For this project we were put into groups and then picked two organ systems to research. My group choose to research the Digestive System and Excretory System. First we researched both systems and found out how they work. Then, we designed and built a model to demonstrate how the systems work on their own and together. The model needed to perform at least 3 functions, 1 with the systems working together and 1 each where the systems work independently of each other. Lastly, we created a presentation to show how our model represented the two systems.

Concepts
Cells- The smallest structural and functional unit of an organism, and makes up tissues when in large numbers with cells of similar nature.
Tissues- The level of structure above cells, usually consisting of groups of specialized cells, but below organs in terms of size and complexity.
Organs- The highest level of individual structures, made up of various tissues, and in tandem with other organs, make up an organ system.
Digestive System- A system of organs responsible for breaking down food into molecules that can easily be absorbed:
Relevant Organs and Structures: Esophagus, mouth, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, liver, pancreas, and pharynx.
Excretory System- A system of organs responsible for removing toxic or harmful waste from the body, especially toxins in the bloodstream.
Relevant Organs and Structures: Kidney, lungs, skin, and liver.

Reflection
This was by far the best project of the year. I was excited with the group I got to work with and enjoyed the progect description. Finally we got to build a project, which was the best part. My group spit up work evenly and we all completed our parts of the project. We were able to complete the huge task of finishing our model in a matter of days and it worked almost perfectly. At times I feel like our group could have been more on task, but overall we worked hard and finished the project on time.
